Need more time to work May 15th, 2008

I’ve decided to wait to go to grad school. I think for right now, it’s just better for me to pay off my debt and start saving to move to the place where I want to go to grad school. For the next couple of years I think I’m just going to work my ass off and pay off as much of my debt as I can. I honestly don’t think I’ll be moving until after I pay off my car which will be in around 3 1/2 years. Who knows, if something awesome happens between now and then, maybe I’ll move sooner, but it’s all a matter of time.

Now that the decision has been finalized and made, I can stress less about the thought of going to school in a matter of months and just focus on the here and now. Which I should have been doing in the first place.

Happily, Coldplay is coming to Kansas City near my birthday. The 9th at the Sprint Center. Tickets go on sale Saturday and my parents have agreed to get me a ticket for my birthday. A glorious $50 ticket that won’t get me anywhere close to the band but that’s okay by me because I just want to see them perform. It would be even better if the Backstreet Boys would release a US tour schedule that included more than just state fairs that are no where near me. I’ve decided, regardless of gas prices, that I will go to both shows. Well, that’s assuming BSB even come to Kansas City. I hope so at least!

I’m still working on a new layout for this place. I can’t seem to get muted colors to work. I want to use a random-image header that changes images every couple of minutes, but I can’t get the images to be as muted in tone as I want. I’m still working on it. I have a few font and color issues to work on. Perhaps it will go live by the end of the month.

In between designing for this site and reading a book (go figure), I’ve been working on a writing site over on wordpress.com. Nothing too permanent right now because I’m trying to figure out my limitations with wp.com: what I can edit, what I can’t edit, what I want to post, etc. I’ve got the design done with as much as I could do, now I’m just working on the About page and actually working on something to post for the time being. When I get it somewhat done, I’ll post a link in the sidebar or something.
